A course for anthropology and philosophy undergraduates, covering micro- and macro-level models of social scientific explanation, the study of norms, conventions, and institutions, as well as rationality, relativism, and the role of values in science.

An introductory course that surveys the foundational milestones of the discipline, explores its conceptual underpinnings, and examines classical theories of scientific explanation and scientific change.
